I'm a Farm Girl!

Hi Friends!

I finally did it!  I joined up to be a Farm Girl Sister at Mary Jane Butters Farm Girl Sisterhood!  Sister #4122 at your service!

Are there any other farm girls in the house???

I had heard about Mary Jane's magazine a few years back when I bought a copy while at my local Barnes and Nobles.  I loved it right then and there and I subscribed about a year ago.  I have been wanting to take it to the next level by becoming a Farm Girl Sister but just had not gotten around to it.

If you have never heard of Mary Jane or her magazine you should check it out.  It embodies, I think what we prim girls are always trying to achieve, living life at it's fullest through creativity, self sufficiency and time tested, tried and true wisdom/methods.

The sisterhood such a neat little program.  You get to learn new skills and hone some old ones and while you do that, you earn merit badges!  How fun!  Not only that but they have a companion program for kids too so my little ones can join in (at no additional cost) and earn badges too.  Well, my daughter can anyway, Nolan is a little to young yet, besides, if it doesn't involve cars or trucks, he has no interest (LOL)

I am super excited to start earning my badges and already have a few in the works!  I look forward to adding my Farm Girl journey to my blog and hope you will enjoy the journey too!

For more information about Mary Jane Butters you can visit her website at www.maryjanesfarm.org and you can learn more about the Farm Girl Sisterhood at www.farmgirlsisterhood.org

Check out her books at your local library, I KNOW you won't be disappointed!

Talk to you soon!
Hugs!

Freebie Friday - Primitive Jumping Bunny Pattern

Hi Friends!

I have been paroosing (is that the word? LOL) the blogs lately, wanting to catch up on things I have been missing and I came across a lovely blog called Appleseed Prim.

Jennie Lynn's blog is just so fresh, I love it! Not only that but she has several beautiful patterns for sale and a few for free! One of the freebies is this awesome little prim bunny.

I love this pattern because it has so many possibilities! Make one for a bowl filler or a cupboard tuck, make a few and sew them nose-to-tail to make a garland, or mount one on a bobbin, spindle, spring, twig or dowel to make a make do style stand up. PERFECT!

Click HERE to go to the post with the pattern

While you are there checking out this pattern be sure to check out her other beautiful patterns and don't forget to tell her THANK YOU for the freebies!

Happy creating this weekend!

Dream Home Update - You guys are AWESOME!

Hi Friends!

I really have to send BIG thanks to everyone who sent me prayers and well wishes! I am really just so touched by all your comments as we hoped and prayed to get our dream house.

Unfortunately it was not meant to be. The house closed and sold this past Friday. I know the family who lives there will be blessed by that beautiful home!

I was kinda bummed for a few days, but I know that our time will come too!

and... as awesome as it would have been to have gotten it, it really was not the best time. I take comfort knowing that God is looking out for us and keeping us safe from bad decisions.

Plus, I found it hard to be thinking of new home while so many people have lost their homes recently durning all the rough weather. I am so thankful to have a nice home in a great area. My prayers go out to those who are going through hardships or are currently homeless.

I am really surprised and ashamed at how much time I had spent just waiting - I have not gotten anything new done and I didn't even bring out my spring decor. I had just been waiting... what a waste of time! I am really ashamed of myself for wasting so much time! I really don't need reminding that just waiting for something to happen ensures that nothing will happen! and by just sitting around waiting for the right e-mail or phone call really accomplished nothing. So if anything, I got that jolt and really feel the need to get going on some things that I have been wanting to get to.

Anyway, I am just rambling, I really did just want to thank everyone for your kind prayers and well wishes! You really are the best!

Now, on to getting busy!

going to go and see what I have been missing.

Be back soon!

Hugs!

Giveaway Winner, Results of recent bunny swap and a Prayer to St. Jude

Hello Friends!

I hope you are all well! My heart goes out to any friends experiencing the crazy snow in the north west, I hope you all fair well.

Here in Central North Carolina, the weather has been SO NICE! Spring is always such a grand time. we are LOVING this nice weather - supposed to hit 80 by the end of the week!

I want to take a moment here to show you the fruits of the latest swap I joined. Wendy from Ravenwood Whimzies held a Bunny Hop Swap. The rules were simple, you had to make a bunny that was at least 12" tall and that was it. My partner was Amy from Bumble Bee Lane Primitives.

So here is what she sent me:

Isn't this the most awesome bunny you ever saw! I just love her, she is so elegant! I hung her on the hook on my clock for now, I like her there.

She also sent me these awesome Folk art eggs and a cute little prim note pad. All wrapped with raffia and tied with a cinnamon waxed heart! (and don't you just love that bunny pitcher?!? He is a new E-bay purchase, an older item from the Pfaltzgraff Hearth line)

Amy you are AWESOME! Thank you so much!!!

Here is the bunny I sent her:

I call him Horatio. I really like how he came out. He stands on his own, and sports a wool vest and rusty bell. His ears are not wired but stay up thanks to little hidden stitches. His tail is a bushy pom pom made from 100% wool yarn, all knobbed up by "washing" it in my hands.
I am working on the pattern for him now and will hopefully have it up next week. If you would like to pre-order one please let me know and you will be the first to get one!

GIVEAWAY WINNER!!!

First,

I want to thank everyone for your awesome encouragement and kind words! Both for my Dream Home endeavor and for the magazine article, you guys really are the best! I really do love blogging and I love to read what everyone has to say and all the great ideas that have come across on all the blogs.

And with that, I have the winner of my giveaway:

Congrats to Jennifer from The Country Mouse!

I used Random.org to select a random entry and hers was the one! She will get a copy of the Spring Mercantile Gatherings Magazine plus a kit to make my Cameo Bunny featured in this issue.

Dream House Update:

On Friday my dad encouraged me to contact the listing agent to follow up and see where the current contract stands, so I did (Totally afraid of the response)

As of right now the contract is still going through and is supposed to close a week from this Friday. So now it is down to the hard core praying to see if God will intervene on our behalf.

I have been going to the house every day to pray and ask God for his assistance. I believe he is asking me to be patient. I don't know if he means for this property or if he has a different plan, but something keeps telling me not to give up here yet. I still get a powerful feeling that we are going to be there, so I will go everyday and pray.

I was there on Friday showing my In-laws the property when the farmer across the way stopped in. I thought he was "catching" us but he was very friendly and asked if we were going to be the new neighbors. I told him "God willing!" I explained that I go there everyday to pray and he said he knew, he recognized my van (blushing)

He gave me some history on the house - it was super cool! Turns out he owns/owned all the land for acres around there and gave that plot to his oldest daughter who built the house. Then she downsized and lives on the property next door! (in another super cute house!) His other daughter lives next to that and he had given the property next to that to a young man who worked for him.

He lives across the street in the woods and keeps a farm. He also has several fruit trees, peaches, pecans, apples and such and my Father-in-law inquired if he has a farm stand but he said no, he just gives the fruit away. Isn't that nice!

I love that property and can't (at this time) imagine living anywhere else!

I have been praying to God and St. Jude and didn't realize I needed to publish my request to St. Jude BEFORE the action is to take place, I thought you published it to thank him. For those who don't know of St. Jude, he is the patron saint of lost causes, when ALMOST all hope is lost, pray to St. Jude to petition God to help you in your time of need.

So I am going to publish my request here,

I humbly pray to St. Jude to help us in our Journey to purchase our Dream house - Holy Saint Jude, Apostle and Martyr, Great in virtue and rich in miracles, Near kinsman of Jesus Christ, Faithful intercessor of all Who invoke your special patronage in time of need. To you I have recourse from the depths of my heart And humbly beg to whom God has given such great power To come to my assistance. Help me in my present and urgent petition, In return I promise to make your name known And cause you to be invoked. Saint Jude pray for me and all those who invoke your aid. Amen.

BOY! loads of stuff in this post. Thank you all, my friends, It really touches my heart to have so many friends out there who bless me with your kind words!

I pray that each of you are blessed too! and never underestimate the power of prayer!

I am off to have some early spring adventures during this weeks GREAT weather. I hope you all have some great spring weather yourselves! I think it may be a week for a Friday Freebie, I will have to get on that!

Hugs!
